Autumn Leaf Colors for Tree Species in the Southern Appalach

This chart documents the leaf colors of the major tree species that most people will see when they come to the mountains of western North Carolina. Some trees may have leaves that range from yellow to orange to red and even deep purple, so we must be wary of characterizing the color of tree species too narrowly.
